1. What’s worth buying on US eBay?
US eBay brings together the largest pool of US and European sellers anywhere, and is widely regarded as one of the most complete second-hand marketplaces for collectors. Many English / US-edition items are either hard to find or heavily marked up in Singapore; buying straight from the US on eBay often means more choice, better prices and figures closer to retail. Here are the categories most worth proxy shopping:

Trading Cards
Pokémon TCG, NBA/MLB sports cards and Magic: The Gathering — mostly “English / US-edition” pre-owned cards, with the deepest stock on US eBay.

US Toys & Figures
US-style figures, Funko, discontinued toys and models, with limited editions and rare mint pieces regularly listed — a treasure hunt for toy fans.

Vintage Clothing
US eBay is a paradise for vintage lovers — from vintage tees and discontinued denim jackets to rare one-off pieces, all at relatively friendly prices.

Streetwear
Street brands, limited collabs and sneakers — US-style streetwear often features styles that are hard to find overseas, a hot category for trend-chasers.
Note: prices and stock may change with sales status and daily exchange rates; please refer to the website for the latest details. Image copyrights belong to their respective stores.
2. What is eBay?
eBay is a global online marketplace that originated in the US and has been running for over 25 years, with members worldwide and hundreds of millions of items listed at any given time, spanning brand-new and pre-owned goods across every category. Sellers list their own items, and buyers can either bid (Auction) or buy instantly at the seller’s Buy It Now (fixed price).
For overseas buyers, eBay’s biggest draws are its easy-to-use English interface and huge variety of items. The US site in particular gathers a vast pool of US and European sellers, making it one of the best ways to get English / US-edition collectibles. As many items are discontinued or limited, you can often find treasures on eBay at great prices.
💡 Tip: Buy&Ship currently proxies “Buy It Now” fixed-price listings only; auction (Bid) listings are not yet supported. When shopping, look for items showing a “Buy It Now” button.
3. Why choose Buy&Ship for US eBay proxy shopping?
US eBay is great for shopping, but most sellers only accept US payment methods and only ship to US addresses. Add cross-border shipping and English checkout, and buying directly as an overseas shopper is far from simple. That’s exactly the pain point Buy&Ship’s proxy service solves:
- No US credit card, no US address needed: our team places and pays for the order locally in the US, then forwards it back to Singapore via the Buy&Ship warehouse.
- The proxy process you already know: it works just like the Japan and Korea proxy shopping you’re used to — just submit a link, no need to relearn anything.
- Buy It Now, fast and certain: simply submit a Buy It Now listing link and our team buys it at the fixed price, so you won’t miss out.
- Save on shipping with consolidation: combine with your other Buy&Ship overseas parcels to share international shipping costs and shop smarter.
- Transparent and reliable: clear proxy fees, with our team following up from order and payment through to delivery.

4. Before you order: look for “Buy It Now + US Only”
US eBay’s English interface is fairly intuitive, but to qualify for proxy shopping, pay special attention to two things before ordering — the listing “Format” and the seller’s “Item Location” — and do some basic seller checks.

① Format: only “Buy It Now” can be proxied
In the filters on the left of the search results page, the “Format” filter usually shows the options below — only Buy It Now can be proxied:
- Accepts Offers
- Auction
- Buy It Now (fixed price) — ✅ Buy&Ship can currently only proxy this format
- Classified Ads
👉 Some Auction listings also include a “Buy It Now” fixed price, but that fixed price is usually only available before anyone bids, and disappears once bidding starts. So as long as the listing still shows a “Buy It Now” button, Buy&Ship can proxy it; if only the bidding (Bid) option remains, we cannot process it for now.
② Item Location: must be set to “US Only”
Buy&Ship only proxies items from US eBay sold by US-based sellers. When searching, set the Item Location filter to “US Only” to make sure the seller is in the US and can ship to a US address. 👉 See a US Only search example here
③ Seller checks before ordering
eBay sellers fall into two main types: individual sellers and professional sellers / shops (eBay Store). Since pre-owned transactions generally don’t accept returns or exchanges, always review the seller info and study the item photos and description carefully before placing an order.

- Seller Feedback: prefer sellers with a Positive Feedback rating of 98% or above and a “Top Rated Seller” badge for greater peace of mind.
- Verify the item: before paying, check whether the photos are real (not stock), and that the Condition and description are accurate and match your needs. Avoid items that are suspiciously cheap or have vague photos/descriptions. Pre-owned items can’t be guaranteed to match the description exactly, and some sellers offer no refunds or returns after payment.
- Item Location: double-check the Item Location is United States — Buy&Ship only processes items from US eBay sold by US-based sellers.
5. 7 common shopping pitfalls
To shop with confidence, learn to avoid these 7 most common second-hand pitfalls. Just one extra minute of checking before you order can dramatically cut your risk.
1. Listings that only stress “Brand New / Sealed” but can’t be verified
You’ll often see sellers write “Brand New”, “Factory Sealed” or “Unopened”, but these are actually the hardest to verify. Especially for sealed card packs, booster boxes and figures, all you see is the wrapping and box — there’s no way to confirm the contents are original. In the card world there’s even the “weighed packs” trick, where the winning cards are pulled before reselling.
✅ What to do: choose sellers with plenty of past positive feedback, and look for listings with internal unboxing or real photos for added safety.
2. Blurry photos / stock photos only
If a seller only uploads official product images (stock photos) with no real shots, it may well mean they don’t actually have the item in hand. Blurry photos can also be used to deliberately hide card flaws or other details.
✅ What to do: always pick listings with clear real photos where you can see corners, flaws, serial numbers and other details.
3. Brand-new accounts / too few reviews / low positive rating
If a seller has no transaction history, too few reviews (a low Feedback number), or a noticeably low Positive Feedback %, be extra careful. A new account or one selling only a single high-value item could be a scam or short-lived flash fraud. Also be wary if all the positive reviews come from the same user — these are often faked.
✅ What to do: open the seller’s page to check the transaction count, review content and whether they keep listing other items. Prefer established sellers with 98%+ positive feedback and a “Top Rated Seller” badge, especially for valuable or limited items.
4. Hidden catches in the description (e.g. “proxy / for display only”)
These descriptions often hide traps, such as “box only”, “random / not guaranteed”, or “proxy / custom” (replica cards), buried in a long block of text so you slip up. Be especially careful when you see keywords like “for display only” or “proxy welcome”.
✅ What to do: get into the habit of reading the full Item Description and confirming every line.
5. Suspiciously cheap prices / unclear descriptions
A card worth thousands suddenly going for a few hundred? Such “bargains” are often not a steal but bait to reel you in. These items could well be “damaged”, “empty boxes”, “non-genuine” or even counterfeit. Sellers deliberately use rock-bottom prices to trigger impulse buys from overseas shoppers; after payment you often receive empty packages or damaged goods, or nothing ships at all.
✅ What to do: compare market prices for similar items first. If a price is more than 50% below the going rate, stay cool and don’t let the bargain cloud your judgement — it’s better to pay a little more to a trusted seller than to get burned.
6. Watch out for “Reprint / Custom / Proxy” replicas
If you see words like “Reprint”, “Custom”, “Proxy”, “Replica” or “Fan-made” in the description, be on alert! These are often not genuine collectible cards or goods, but prints, replicas or homemade items. Sellers use polished photos and vague wording to make you think it’s genuine — card listings are where this happens most often.
✅ What to do: always read the full description and skip decisively when you see these words. If the description is unclear, don’t buy.
7. Beware “Sealed Box” items with homemade boxes passed off as original
Many card and collectible listings put words like “Sealed Box”, “Booster Box” or “Factory Sealed” in the title, making it look like an original full box. But read the description carefully and you may find notes like “resealed”, “custom box” or “loose packs”. That means what you receive could be loose cards or repackaged goods stuffed into a plain box to look original — a huge hit to collectible value, and a big markdown on resale.
✅ What to do: read the full description before ordering, watching for keywords like “resealed”, “custom” and “loose”. If the title says “Sealed Box” but the description doesn’t clearly state it’s factory-sealed, pick a seller with real photos of the original box (showing the seal, product number and barcode) for better protection.
